Summary
Delegates from the Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency (AFSA) and UNICEF met with the Food Fortification Initiative (FFI) team at Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health to advance national wheat flour fortification efforts in Azerbaijan. Throughout the week, participants engaged in technical discussions covering standards, standard operating procedures, global evidence, regulatory monitoring, pilot implementation, and public communications strategies. The itinerary also included a hands-on site visit to an Ardent Mills production facility and mill laboratory in Chattanooga, Tennessee, concluding with strategic reflections to draft a proposal and timeline for government implementation
