Summary
FFI participated in the Tortilla Industry Association (TIA) Annual Meeting, where Scott Montgomery presented on the potential implications of the 2026 Dietary Guidelines for Americans for the tortilla industry. The session explored topics including food fortification misinformation, the growing use of GLP-1 medications, and declining grain consumption in the United States, with a focus on how these trends may affect the industry.
In addition to the presentation, FFI represented the Mills for Nutrition (M4N) initiative at a shared exhibit booth and met with millers, industry leaders, and strategic partners from across North America. These conversations highlighted strong interest in M4N and reinforced the need for coordinated efforts to address fortification misinformation and strengthen industry advocacy.
