The goal was to increase the capacity of flour fortification stakeholders to plan for, implement, and monitor well-developed, feasible, and efficient flour fortification programs. We trained individuals who are passionate about flour fortification on how to effectively communicate and share their knowledge and skills on the topic with others.

Participants were enrolled in an online training course to complete prior to their attendance. At the event, they were trained in fortification and monitoring basics, multi-sector alliances, legislation and standards, premix, monitoring plans, equipping a mill for fortification, internal monitoring, and external monitoring.

See the concept note and the meeting report.

Twenty-two people from a variety of professional backgrounds attended, representing 11 countries:

  • Burundi
  • Kenya
  • Lesotho
  • Malawi
  • Mozambique
  • Namibia
  • Rwanda
  • Swaziland
  • Uganda
  • Zambia
  • Zimbabwe

This event was possible in part by the generous support of the American people through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
