Global Miller's Symposium

Objective

The Global Miller's Symposium is designed for milling professionals, scientists, and cereal executives. The meeting is in collaboration with the International Association for Cereal Science Technology (ICC). Representatives from all continents will share their knowledge about trends of the global wheat market, flour treatment, fortification and new baking applications.

The afternoon session on the first day of the meeting will focus on health and fortification, including presentations by FFI staff and several partners.

Part of the symposium will be the 2016 Flour Sack Award - an annual competition sponsored by Mühlenchemie GmbH & Co. The chosen flour sack is displayed in the company's Flour World Museum in Wittenburg, Germany. The museum holds the largest collection of flour sacks in the world with over 3,100 exhibits from more than 130 countries. PT Sriboga Flour Mill, an Indonesian flour mill, received the 2015 award for its representations of regional cultures on the sack below.
